Week 3 20% Project

During week three of my 20% project my partner and I decided to change the that we are using for the project.  In the beginning we decided to use this brand call US Athletic, but we decided to change that. We didn't wasn't o use high quality shoes but we thought about it and realize that the end product is going to be revolved around the shoe.  So if we get a shoe that can be torn apart easily then won't look good on my part. We don't have to get a nice pair of shoe.  The shoe that we decide to get are Nike. We are going to go to a local shoe store and look at what they have on clearance.  They aren't going to be the nicest pair of Nike, but nonetheless they are Nikes.  We are very excited on what the end product will look like now knowing the shoe we get are going to be good.

Week 2 20% Project

During week 2 of my 20% project my partner and  I are focusing on our final product.  We still need to connect the bottom part of the cleat to the shoe but we are looking ahead from that.  The only thing that we are still worried about is if the bottom part of the the cleat will line up on the correct part of the shoe because we don't want it to be lop sided at all.  We are also worried about the bottom part of the cleat falling off the shoe.  If the bottom part of the cleat does start to come off the shoe, we will give the rest of the bottle of glue to the person that we are giving to cleats to.

Week 1 20% Porject

During my first week I was off from doing my blog.  I thought  about how my project would look after    I am done with it.  The main thing i am still concerned about is how the shoes is going to stick together with the cleat.  If I am not 100% for sure that the shoe will stay together then whatever I use for the project I will give the person bottle of glue I use on it so if the bottom part of the shoe dose come off, then the person we give the cleat so they can apply the glue to where the part of the cleat is coming off.  I think my project if going to a success in the end.  If the cleat are a success then my partner and I will consider making more.  If it is not a success the first time we do it then we will try again and learn from our mistakes.

(This is the glue that we are going to be using.)

Week 8 20% Project

During week 8 of my 20% project I was working on how to make our presentation much better for my 20 % project that is due the beginning of June.  Everything is going good so far with the project, however I am still indecisive on what kind of glue we should use to keep the metal cleat to the shoe.  I would not want the bottom part of the shoe to be falling apart while the person is using them.  My teacher helped me and told me that if the bottom part of the shoe were to come off then before hand we give them instruction in how to fit it, and maybe give them a little bottle of glue I used for the shoe.  I hope it works out and the bottom part never falls off so the person we gave the shoe to so he can tell more people about it so my partner and I can make for baseball players all around.

Week 7 20% Project

During week seven of my 20% project I did more research for my project.  The main thing that I   have been concerned about is what to use to keep the bottom part of the cleat attached to the shoe.  I just planned to go to the local hardware store and ask one of the employees what they recommend to use,  but before I do that I went on Google to see if anyone recommended a strong glue that I can use for my project.  The best thing that i have found so far is this type of industrialize glue.  It's called Gorilla Glue.  I then searched Gorilla glue up to get more information on it and I saw good reviews on it.  However I don't know if it will be strong enough to hold the bottom part of the cleat to the shoe, but I can't find anything else to use so that is what I am going to use for my project.

Week 6 20% Project

During week 6 of my 20% Project I had started working on the presentation that we will have to present to the class.  This presentation is going to show the progress in what I have done so far with this project.  The furthest I have gotten with my project so far is getting the pair of the shoes and the pair of cleats I need for this project.  I am still having trouble finding certain tools to separate the bottom part of the cleat.  I'm also having trouble with finding certain of glue or something strong that will hold the bottom part of the cleat. I am also having trouble with finding a certain type of glue or something strong that will hold the bottom part of the cleat to the shoe. Once i find out what tools will work then I will be able to connect the two shoes together to make a comfortable wearing pair of cleats. Then the winner of my raffle will have the chance to test them out. If he likes them then it will be a success and I will consider making more.

Week 5 20% Project

During week 5 of my 20% project I have been doing  a lot of researching if other people are trying to also make a shoe into a cleat just like what I am doing.   I found cleats on google that are similar to what we are trying to create as well.  I have been trying to find different tools to disconnect the bottom part of the cleat.  I think I'm just going to go to a local hardware store and just see what I can find there  that could help me out.  Another problem I am having  is trying to find a strong enough glue that will be able to hold the bottom part of the cleat to the shoe.  I might have too go to home depot to see if they have a strong glue.  I really need to focus on putting the bottom part of cleat onto  the shoe because if I mess up then I will need to start over, it is very important that I find the correct materials to make this a success.
